Associate In Early Childhood Education – The Early Childhood Education Associate Program prepares students to work as early childhood education teacher-caregivers. It combines practical field work in field centers with relevant academic work at the college. Graduates are responsible for the care and education of children from birth to eight years. They create and maintain a safe and healthy play environment, guide behavior, plan and implement learning activities, and collaborate with staff and parents.
Participants will analyze the theoretical principles of early childhood education and apply these principles in a variety of settings such as child care centers, family day care, nurseries, preschools, four-year-old kindergarten or kindergarten and/or childminders. Students complete four practicums in an accredited child care agency or educational setting to provide students with a variety of educational experiences. Students and teachers will work closely together to develop plans to ensure that students have experiences with newborns/infants, preschoolers, differently abled children, and students in preschool through third grade.

A cost of attendance estimate (COA) is a budget that includes categories of expenses that a student should incur while attending college. COA does not reflect actual costs. This is an average based on the estimated cost of living in our area. To determine the cost of attendance, Northcentral Technical College uses a budget established by the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Financial Aid Task Force. This budget is used to determine the financial need of all students applying for financial aid. The student’s cost of attendance includes all educational expenses that may be included in financial aid during the student’s academic year (or semester, if enrolled for less than one year). A student’s financial aid cannot exceed the cost of attending classes. Schools need to give students a full picture of how much it might cost to earn their degree, not just how much they owe in tuition/fees and books/supplies.
* The stated tuition is based on the approved rates for the academic year 2022-2023. with an estimated base increase of 1.65%. Estimated budgets are approved by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board of Trustees each March and updated at that time.
Custodial, computer, or study abroad students must contact the Financial Aid Office to document allowable expenses to increase their COA.
